Pasadena Top Cop Blasts County Bail Policy

The Chief of Police in Pasadena is criticizing Harris County's new pre-trial release policy, calling it dangerous to the community and the police. "It's disappointing that you have a defendant charged with multiple violent felonies - including an armed robbery and shooting at witnesses - that's allowed to walk out the front doors of the jail with just his signature that he'll appear in court again."

Chief Bruegger's video has been shared thousands of times. The suspect, Jakouri Jones - is accused in at least four violent robberies. He was ordered to wear an ankle monitor and adhere to a curfew. Jones is due in court in March to face six felony charges.
