The U.S. House and the Senate in Washington have heard from the Internal Revenue Service regarding the Partial Government Shutdown. The IRS says they will return to offices facing millions of taxpayers letters and already be weeks behind schedule before they begin. They must hire and train thousands of new staff as well.
This tax season will be especially difficult to manage. The IRS calculates it should take many months to return to normal operation.
