(Uvalde, TX) -- The 12-year-old boy accused of shooting and killing a man on Wednesday used to live with the victim.
Yesterday, the Uvalde Leader News reported that Sammy Chapa, the girlfriend of boxer John VanMeter says she let the boy accused in the shooting live with the couple because he was on the streets and was friends with her son.
Chapa says VanMeter was a fight instructor who trained her son and the suspect but she had to tell the boy to leave when he started getting into more serious trouble. She says the last time she saw the suspect was two months ago.
