The annual Souper Bowl of Caring kicked off today. This is the thirteenth year of the campaign to help fight hunger. There are a number of ways you can help the cause.
You can do it yourself with your own food drive. Or it’s as simple as going into your local Kroger, H-EB, or Randall’s. And Executive Director Alison Reese tells KTRH whatever you donate stays in the Houston area.
“All of that, 100 percent, goes straight to the Houston Food Bank,” Reese said.
Last year, the Souper Bowl of Caring raised $2.1 million in Houston. Reese wants to hit an even bigger number this year.
“The goal here in Houston is to raise $2.5 million worth of food. That’s a lofty goal,” she explained.
