#10yearchallenge photos make it easy to invade privacy

Facebook's '10 Year Challenge' could be a way to use facial recognition algorithm to violate people’s privacy.

Preferred Technology Solutions president Neil Medwed said users need to understand the Facebook privacy settings

"Yes, it is a security concern. Will people give up doing what they're accustomed to do because of that? I wish that was the case. But, to be honest, for most, it's not," said Medwed. "You can control if you allow Facebook to utilize facial recognition or not."

Facebook users can choose to turn facial recognition on or off at any time.

Pros: an age progression algorithm could be used to help find missing children. Cons: could be used for ad targeting, or given to law enforcement or insurance companies.
