NASA Workers To Protest Partial Government Shutdown(Houston, TX)  --  The local chapter of a government employees' union is planning a rally today to call for an end to the partial government shutdown.  Members of the American Federation of Government Employees will stage the rally at noon in front of NASA's Johnson Space Center in southeast Houston.

Some 28-hundred NASA workers have been idle for more than three weeks.  About 300 more are working without pay on jobs such as supporting the International Space Station.  An astronaut on board the station is a federal employee and is not being paid.
