The opening of the Houston Academy of Cannabis Science happens this weekend and will offer residents the opportunity to learn more about the marijuana industry.
"We are the first and the only one, Houston Academy of Cannabis Science," says CEO Leavery Davidson.
Courses will be for all ages and will include the history of the plant, how it is grown, its medical use and how it is dispensed.
"We're looking at doctors, lawyers, any profession in the medical arena, teachers, any entrepreneurs," Davidson said. "The course will allow people to get an edge when everything does open up here in Texas."
Classes normally cost students $599, but the first students will get a special, lower rate of $420.
