Car Smash: Houston couples vow to crush the Colts on Saturday

Future brides and grooms are going to get a chance to demonstrate why Houston has become known as ‘Crush City’ on Saturday.

As a way to support the Texans, the Houston Bridal Extravaganza will be giving couples a chance to swing a sledgehammer and help destroy a Indianapolis Colts car.

“Brides and grooms usually have a ton of wedding stress. What better way to blow off some of that steam than to ‘crush’ the Colts on Saturday,” explains Laurette Veres, the producer of the Bridal Extravaganza. “We bought an old beater and had it hauled to the George R. Brown…Then on Saturday as soon as the doors open at 10am, couples will be able to come out swinging and put some serious dents in the Colts hopes.”

On Friday, they spray-painted it in the Colts colors and added the logo.

This is Houston’s original bridal show, now celebrating it's 35th annual show. It’s considered one of the largest shows in the country.

It includes everything from the ‘garter to the getaway car’ under one roof.

Couples can enjoy two whole days of fashion shows, wedding seminars and over 400 booths featuring Houston’s top wedding vendors and see all they have to offer, including: samples of their designs, photos and video of reception locations, displays and new ideas to make their wedding special.
