An 83-year old woman is dead after being found in her burning home Christmas morning.
An off-duty HFD captain mas driving around a southeast Houston neighborhood when he discovered smoke coming from the elderly woman’s house.
That captain stopped, kicked the door down and found the badly burned woman at the foot of the stairs. He tried performing CPR, but the woman later died in the hospital.
The woman’s identity has not been released, and arson investigators are looking into what happened.
