Aggravated robbery and kidnapping victims should come forward

A joint task force of HCSO Violent Crime Unit and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division have arrested Pablo Munoz Garza, 39, owner of TexGuard Services Co. for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping for an incident that occurred in July of 2018.

On Sunday, July 29, 2018 at around 3:30 in the morning, Garza and several of the security guards that work under him and his company assaulted and robbed a 33-year-old Hispanic male at the La Overja Negra Club in Harris County.Only one of the security guards could be identified with the name “Cowboy.” Garza and security guards he employed are believed to have other assault and robbery victims.

"We want to make it perfectly clear to the victims out there, that the Harris County Sheriff's Office will not inquire about victims' immigration status. We want to solve these crimes," said Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. "We know there are other victims. They are predominantly Spanish speakers only, so they are reluctant to speak or report the robberies that have occurred to them."

Harris County Lieutenant Jeff Stauber said it seems like a group of people who work at a security guard company are targeting illegals.

"We're not worried about immigration status. We know that we have other victims out there. And, a lot of these victims believe, by the way that they're dressed, that they were actually law enforcement officers," said Stauber.

Gonzalez said the suspect was charged with two felony charges and is already out on bond.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety are urging any victims of Garza and TexGuard Services security guards to come forward with information to law enforcement officials. Anyone with inform ation is urged to call the HCSO Violent Crime Unit at 713-274-9100
