REMINDER: No Buying Booze In Texas Christmas or NY Day - It's the LAW!

Just like Sundays, in Texas, you won't be able to buy liquor on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

State law states no person can market, sell, even deliver spirits on those days. It's also true for Thanksgiving and the Monday after if any of the holidays fall on a Sunday.

Back in 1935, Texas lawmakers decided on the Sunday rule in response to the repeal of Prohibition. The ban for Christmas Day was implemented in 1967. In 1979, New Year's and Thanksgiving were added.
