This is not your Christmas tale of red and green, but rather a cautionary tale from the city of Georgetown, Texas. Newcomers to the state may know it for being featured in the Al Gore Inconvenient Sequel film of 2017.
The former Vice President…made billionaire on failed global warming predictions… praised Georgetown for going green….powering itself with only solar and wind energy…. Affordable, predictable power he said, for the next 25 years and beyond.
But the city is now obligated longterm to fixed contracts for green…..trying to sell back to the market that has lower prices for natural gas. There’s your red.
And red-faced city leaders trying to figure out how to make up the budget shortfall….7 million dollars this year alone…..that looks to continue.
