A Harris County woman charged with injuring and endangering a child is sentenced to 28-years in prison. Prosecutors say 38-year old Tammi Bleimeyer abused and starved her then-five-year old stepson Jordan, who was found living in a closet under the stairs in 2014.
"This was a very bittersweet moment; Jordan suffered a very terrible injury at the hands of his biological father and Tammi Bleimeyer."
Harris County Assistant D.A. Stephen Driver tells our TV partner KPRC Channel-2 that doctors compared Jordan's state of malnourishment to that of a Holocaust survivor.
The child's biological father pleaded guilty to charges in 2016 and is serving a 15-year prison sentence.
Jordan is now living with his biological mother.
