State Bill Would Require Annual Thanksgiving Game Between UT, A&M

(Austin, TX)  --  A proposed state law would require an annual football game between UT and Texas A&M during Thanksgiving weekend.  Republican state Representative Lyle Larson of San Antonio officially filed the Restore the Rivalry Bill on Tuesday.

The bill would require the Aggies and Horns to play a regular-season game either on Thanksgiving or the Friday or Saturday of the holiday weekend.

The two schools haven't played each other since 2011, when they were both in the Big 12.  A&M joined the Southeastern Conference the following year.
