Aggies Win 'Game of the Year'

There have never been so many points scored in an FBS college football game.

Texas A&M needed seven overtimes to upset 7th ranked LSU 74-72 at Kyle Field in College Station. The game also tied the NCAA record for the most overtimes ever played.

Quarterback Kellen Mond threw for 287 yards and six touchdowns in the win.  Trayveon Williams rushed for 198 yards and two TD’s.

Quartney Davis caught seven passes for 101-yards and two touchdowns,  but it was Kendrick Rogers – who had two TD receptions of his own and battled back from leg cramps – who caught the two-point conversion that sealed the victory.

The win snapped A&M’s seven-game losing streak to the Tigers, dating back prior to Texas A&M’s membership in the SEC.

The 146 total points scored are second only to Abilene Christian’s 93-68 win over West Texas A&M in 2008.

The Aggies finished their first season under new head coach Jimbo Fisher 8-4.  Now they’re awaiting a bowl bid.
