A Pasadena Police officer is involved in a deadly shooting during a traffic stop.
Investigators say the driver ran a red light on Pine Avenue and Jana Lane Wednesday evening. Once he was stopped he got out of the vehicle and ran off. During the chase, officials say he was emptying his pockets of what appeared to be illegal drugs.
Once he was caught there was a struggle and shots were fired. The driver later died from his injuries.
The officer, a 20-year veteran of the force, was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
