Travis Scott grew up in Missouri City. He spent many a summer day riding all the rides and enjoying the day at Astroworld. Until it closed down in 2005.
Now, 13 years later, yesterday the rapper and producer hosted The First Ever Astroworld Festival. Some 40,000 fans came out and had a great time. A day later (today) Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner proclaimed November 18th ASTROWORLD DAY!
In a City of Houston proclamation, Scott was recognized as an ambassador for the arts, education and youth initiatives. He spoke briefly and shared his love for Houston and he said he will strive to live up to what the proclamation said about him every day.
