Drug for blood pressure, kidney disease in diabetics being recalled

A prescription medication called Losartan taken to manage blood pressure, reduce risk of stroke or treat kidney disease for diabetes patients, is being recalled over concerns it may lead to cancer.

The Food and Drug Administration says the med may contain a "probable human carcinogen" which is considered an impurity.

If you have a bottle of the 100 milligram or 25 milligram tablets labeled with Lot Number JB8-912, that's the one that could cause cancer.

Patients are advised not to abruptly stop taking it, but talk with your doctor first.
