The midterms are barely over, but odds makers already are gearing up for the 2020 presidential election.
Right now Donald Trump is favored to win a second term. But three Democrats are emerging as possible contenders -- Kamala Harris, Robert Francis O'Rourke and Elizabeth Warren.
“I don't think there's much appetite to have Hillary Clinton or anyone like that coming back, so I think you'll see a lot of new faces,”says Matt Langston, vice president of Axiom Strategies in Austin.
Langston says Dems will need a fresh face to energize the party and challenge the sitting president.
“Trump now has a record to defend, he can't just go on the attack,” he says. “The Republicans can't just go on the attack in this, so a newer face is a bigger challenge for the Republican Party.”
“They're going against a giant, Donald Trump has been able to unify and create a populous message that it's very difficult for them to come back.”
Other Dems include Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Cory Booker at 33/1 odds.
