GALLERY: HOMETOWN COMFORT

It's the stress.....politics, elections, traffic...sometimes you just have to hole up or head back to traditional comforts.  For me....that's heading to the country and my hometown of Hallettsville.

With huntin' season underway there, I'm in a lot of road company right now, but once I land....usually it's straight to Glen's.  That's the butcher shop extraordinaire....with the great pits in back... on Saturdays, loaded up with bbq.

Nothing says comfort to me like wood smoke and meat on the pit.  It's the family of Glen Dolezal who run the operation now....but there's Mr Dolezal, 90 years old, at the cash register on Saturdays.  There's a lot of comfort in seeing continuity...with so much changing around us.

I've posted photos here at ktrh.com
