HOUSTON - On Veterans Day, Americans take time to thank those who have served in the military for their sacrifices. But for this year, President Trump is extending the celebrations across the entire month.
Trump signed a proclamation on Wednesday declaring this November National Veterans and Military Families Month. Buddy Grantham is a veteran living in Houston who likes the idea, but adds, "Paper is paper. It's the way people treat you that's important, and I feel I'm treated great here."
For Buddy, the small gestures people make when he goes shopping are anything but small. "When I go in, somebody will always say thank you and I never expect it, but I always appreciate it."
We appreciate those who have served and sacrificed so much.
