Staggering numbers crossing illegally into the U.S.

HOUSTON - The numbers don't lie. The United State has a problem with illegal immigration. In September, around 1,100 migrants were nabbed trying to enter illegally at the border daily. That was a record high which has been surpassed in October, with the number jumping by 300 more a day!

"It's going to continue to happen until Congress gives the administration the options it needs to deter people from coming across," said Ira Mehlman, media director for Federation for American Immigration Reform

Mehlman says the the midterm election results will have some impact on what will happen. "Democrats actually did not mention immigration in their campaigns or actually ran on a platform of supporting immigration enforcement."

Mehlman says President Trump's use of military and the contract for a six-mile stretch of wall in the Rio Grande Valley are small steps forward.
