A new poll from Axios says just 51% of you have faith in our democracy. On top of that 36% say they’ve lost faith. Political historian Terry Madonna isn’t surprised.
“What voters see are leaders that don’t like or trust each other,” Madonna stated.
Madonna also says the pendulum swings back and forth when it comes to this issue. There were times, like the Reagan years, that were not as polarized. There were times that were as tense as things are right now.
“There were brutal times during the Vietnam War when we were bitterly divided,” Madonna said.
