Girl Scouts Sue Boy Scouts Over Rebranding As Boy Scouts Of America Drops "

(New York, NY)  --  The Girl Scouts are suing the Boy Scouts for trademark infringement.  The lawsuit filed in New York this week claims the Boy Scouts decision to rebrand itself as "the Scouts" is causing confusion and damaging the Girl Scouts core brand identity.

The Boy Scouts of America announced last year that it would open its doors to girls in 2019.   The suit contends the rebranding effort sent the false message that the Boy Scouts were now the exclusive organization providing leadership services to girls.  It also asks for monetary damages.
