A higher power may have helped a Harris County teenager from avoiding a serious gunshot wound.
This happened last night as the 14-year old girl was getting ready to go to sleep.
“She was kneeling down and praying near her bed when a bullet fired from an unknown suspect or suspects came through the wall of the home and stopped near the wall of her bed. It did graze her arm,” said Thomas Gilliland with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The girl was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate.
“Was it some sort of altercation, we still don’t know. But divine intervention might have played a part in this,” Gilliland stated.
