(Galveston, TX) -- A Galveston-based construction contractor will be building part of the border wall. Federal agencies awarded SLSCO Limited a 145-million-dollar contract at the end of October.
The contract is for the construction of about six miles of the wall in Hidalgo County.
The project will involve the concrete and steel wall itself, plus removal of foliage for 150 feet in front of it. It will also include motion detectors, cameras, lights, and a parallel road behind the wall.
Construction of the segment is expected to start in February.
