U.S. border patrol stretched to the limits

HOUSTON - With record numbers of immigrants trying to pass into the U.S. illegally, U.S Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan says, “Obviously the system is beyond capacity right now."

Norm Adams, the co-founder for Texans for Sensible Immigration Policy is not surprised. "Congress has failed to address immigration reform because they are all afraid to talk about it."

Adams did say he was pleased to see some help will be heading to the border. "Thank God, President Trump is sending some military to help but they won't go there to shoot these people. They're going to go down there and do paperwork."

Adams hopes to see some action from Congress after the mid-term elections and feels like McAleenan that the only way change is going to happen is if Congress addresses sensible immigration reform.
