Election Day is less than two weeks away. Early voting is already underway in Texas. And the bad guys looking to make you part with your money or credit card information are trying to take advantage of that.
So over the next couple of weeks, if you get a phone call from someone claiming to be working with a political campaign; one that asks you for a donation, you should be aware that might not be legitimate.
“We are urging people to be cautious and not give their credit card information out over the phone,” Leah Napoliello with the Better Business Bureau in Houston told KTRH.
Napoliello admits that her office is hearing more about these sorts of scams happening lately.
“We have seen a ramping up of these kinds of scams lately,” she stated.
