Sharpstown Invites All to 50th Homecoming

When the school first opened their doors to students the fall of 1968 in Houston’s first master-planned community both junior and senior high school students raced to find their new classrooms and meet their new teachers.  A band called The Rascals had the number one hit on the radio, a song called "People Got to Be Free."

This year all students who have walked those halls, slammed those locker doors, attended sock hops and proms and made attendance at Friday Night Lights mandatory are invited to return for the 50th Anniversary Homecoming this Friday night, October 19.

That includes teachers, faculty, and family members.  The entire community of Apollo’s past and present are invited to begin with a community parade at 9:50, a tailgate party at Butler Stadium at 2 and kickoff for the homecoming game against Fort Bend Marshall from Missouri City.
