Be aware that there are two major road closures this weekend that could upset your travel plans – and timing.
On the Southwest Freeway, all northbound lanes from Fondren to Bellaire are closed through five Monday morning.
The Westpark Tollway or Bellaire Blvd. may be a better bet.
And there are closures on 290. Eastbound is closed at Huffmeister while westbound lanes are closed at Highway 6. Your only alternative will be the feeder road. TxDot says this bridge work is the last major project before wrap up the massive 290 project. The lanes will be open for Monday morning’s rush hour.
