It’s baseball season, and there is only one place former President George H.W. Bush wants to be.
Home in Houston cheering on his beloved Astros.
The President returned home Friday from his family summer retreat in Kennebunkport, Maine, just in time for the American League Championship Series.
The two Presidents Bush were at Minute Maid Park for the 5th game of last year’s World Series. President Bush 41 handed the ball to his son, President Bush 43, who threw the first pitch right across home plate. The two threw out the first pitch together in 2010 in the series between the Rangers and the Giants. The younger Bush once owned a stake in the Rangers.
This will be the elder Bush’s first home playoff game alone. His wife Barbara Bush passed away April 17, 2018.
In addition to watching a few games, spokesman Jim McGrath says President Bush has been looking forward to getting home to Houston and diving into some authentic Tex Mex, his favorite food.
