(Houston, TX) -- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is now 60-years-old. Apollo Astronaut Walt Cunningham opened Friday night's anniversary celebrations at Space Center Houston. The vintage mission control consoles that guided Cunningham's 1968 flight on Apollo 7 are being refurbished.
They'll be in place at the Space Center in time for NASA's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing next July. An art exhibit celebrating space exploration is on display until early next year. It includes work by Andy Warhol and other artists.
