Toyota is recalling nearly two-and-half million Prius models worldwide, including more than 800-thousand in the U.S. The Japanese auto giant announced today that the recall is to fix a hybrid system problem that could cause the car to lose power.
Toyota says the recall covers certain Prius models built between October of 2008 and November of 2014.
This is the second recall in two months for Toyota. Last month it recalled more than a million Prius and hybrid versions of its crossover SUV. Those vehicles had issues with wires exposed to wear and tear that could led to a fire risk.
