It's one of the rarest of the rare.... whiskies.... and it just sold at auction for 1.1 million dollars. It's a 60 year old Macallan Valerio Adami 1926, this time going to a private collector from Asia who bid by phone.
Doubtful that the collector will drink it....at 40,000 bucks a shot....but sometimes they do. What's the point of collecting it? Bragging rights? of possessing something so rare....only 24 bottles were produced. And it's beautiful...this one is one of only 12 that bears the label designed by the Italian artist Adami. (He's known for co-designing the album sleeve for the Beatles "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band").
