Las Vegas Shooting Anniversary

The city of Las Vegas is remembering the 58 people who were killed exactly one year ago today when a gunman opened fire at country music festival.  A number of events and remembrance ceremonies are being held in the city throughout the day.

At exactly 10:01 this evening, the Las Vegas strip will go dark to remember those killed by a gunman who fired more than one-thousand rounds from his room at the Mandalay Bay hotel.  City officials will read the names of the victims at the moment when gunshots began.

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval says the massacre will never be forgotten but the courage and conviction of those lost will always bring the community together.
