The computer systems at HEB are back online after a glitch caused stores to shut down across the state on Wednesday.
Around midday, cash registers started ringing up all items at no charge, so the grocery chain suspended sales for about two hours.
The system reportedly was back up by about 2 p.m., though a few stores were still having problems as of 2:30 p.m.
The problem was reportedly caused by a software update, and the company's IT team got onto it.
