AUSTIN, Texas -- Many fans are taking sides after hearing that Texas native and country music legend Willie Nelson is headlining a rally for Beto O'Rourke. O'Rourke is running against Texas Senator Ted Cruz for the state Senate seat in Texas.
Folks continue to comment about the decision to support O'Rourke at the rally in Austin after he posted the (above) announcement on his page Wednesday. Many suggest Nelson should stick to music. Others outright insult the chart topper saying they 'won't be going to his concerts again anytime soon.' Some are just glad he's contributing to this year's midterms by getting people to the voting booth.
The rally is scheduled for Sept. 29 at Austin's Auditorium Shores, where he'll perform alongside Joe Ely, Carrie Rodriguez, Tameca Jones and Nelson's sons, Lukas and Micah Nelson.
