Houston And Harris County Officials Brace For Heavy Weather

(Houston, TX)  --  Houston city officials and Harris County emergency managers are keeping an eye on the tropical weather system approaching the Texas coast.  The Houston Fire Department has high-water trucks positioned around the city.  

Mayor Sylvester Turner says barricades are ready to be placed at 40 high-water spots.  

Harris County Flood Control says flash flooding is the thing to look out for over the next few days.  The county's Homeland Security office says the system could develop into a tropical depression over the next day or two.
