It could be a very crowded field for the race to the Democratic Presidential nomination in 2020.
The number of Republicans that ran in 2016 was 17, and SMU political scientist Cal Jillson tells KTRH we could see something similar from the left in a couple of years.
“There will be a lot of Democrats testing the waters for a Presidential run in 2020,” Jillson stated.
Maybe as many as 25 or 30, but Jillson says each one of them has a hurdle to overcome.
“There’s not a person out there who has the entire package,” Jillson said, adding that there could be one that comes out of the blue to energize the base, like Barrack Obama in 2008.
