President Trump Calls Out Nike Over Kaepernick Ad

President Donald Trump attacked the NFL and Nike after the shoe company announced that former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who started a movement of players kneeling during the national anthem prior to kickoff, would be the face of its 30th-anniversary “Just Do It” campaign. In a tweet on Wednesday (September 5) morning, Trump highlighted the rating woes facing the NFL and said that "Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts."

Just like the NFL, whose ratings have gone WAY DOWN, Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts. I wonder if they had any idea that it would be this way? As far as the NFL is concerned, I just find it hard to watch, and always will, until they stand for the FLAG!

After Nike announced that they had just signed Kaepernick to a multi-year extension, many fans took to social media and shared photos and videos of themselves burning and cutting their Nike gear

While the NFL issued a fairly neutral statement about Nike's decision, some league executives were livid with the timing of the announcement, according to Fox News. The football season kicks off on Thursday and the NFL was hoping to put the national anthem controversy on the back burner. Instead, they are doing damage control over the issue again.
