Tropical Wave Continues Western Track

Houston could be in for a wet workweek.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami is watching a tropical wave that is moving northwest toward the western coast of Florida.  They have upgraded the chances of the system forming into a tropical depression to 40% within the next five days.

The current system is expected to move into the Gulf of Mexico and become more organized.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Florence is moving to the west-northwest at 15-miles per hour and is expected to maintain that course for the next few days.  It is located 770-miles WNW of the Cabo Verde Islands (near latitude 16.5 North, longitude 31.4 West). The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb, and it has maximum sustained winds of 60-mh.  Some strengthening is possible today, but it poses no immediate threat to land.
