The 10 Barrel Brewing Co. of Bend, Ore., is collaborating with the lone remaining U.S. location of the Blockbuster video-rental chain to create “The Last Blockbuster,” a black ale that “pairs perfectly with buttery theater popcorn and your favorite movie-sized chocolate.”
It's also described as having "a light body, smooth finish and hints of nostalgia." The limited-edition brew will be available only at six 10 Barrel pubs in the Western U.S.
Two of the pubs aren't far from the single remaining Blockbuster store on Northeast Revere Avenue in Bend. Two other long-surviving locations in Alaska rented their last videos in July.
The brewery says “The Last Blockbuster” beer will debut Sept. 21 at a block party at the Blockbuster store.
