Missouri City Police have charged Troy Larue Parker, 20, with murder in the death of his girlfriend, 19-year-old Sabrina Nicole Herrera.
Police say Parker confessed to killing the girl and putting her body in the trunk of her car.
The victim's family located the vehicle in the 1600 block of Bent Oak, using an app on the girl's phone. Police found the body in the trunk.
During an interview, police say Parker confessed to killing the victim at his residence in the 8400 block of Quail Run, then driving to Bent Oak with the victim in the trunk and abandoning the car.
Parker, who has also been charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence, is being held in the Fort Bend County Jail.
