How bad, how much and how far Harvey hit

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has released the statistics for Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath.

In all, 53 counties were designated for Federal Assistance

83 disaster recovered center were opened and served more than 287,000 people.

More than 19,000 residents received temporary housing or repairs.

The storm impacted more than 41,000 square miles of land, an area larger than Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont combined.

Nearly 13-million cubic yards of debris was cleared.

$1.6 Billion dollars was paid out in grants for housing and disaster related expenses.
