3 Taylor ISD seniors arrested for plotting school attack

Three students at a high school in Taylor, just northeast of Austin, were arrested Wednesday after officials said they made comments about carrying out a school shooting.

The three -- all 17-year-old seniors at Taylor High -- were charged with making a terroristic threat.

Taylor police say several students overheard the suspects making "detailed plans" to coordinate a shooting at the school that involved explosives and firearms.

Taylor ISD Superintendent Keith Brown says a school resource officer arrested the three students with the help of a Taylor police officer who was on campus as part of a new safety initiative.

Brown says, once released, the trio will be suspended for three days, then sent to alternative school before they can return to class.
