June 2018 was a big record-breaking month in real estate sales in Houston - and July sales are up almost 10% over last year! People are moving here from all over the states and not only for jobs. Shannon Cobb Evans, the Chair Elect of the Houston Area Realtors says, “Houston is the last great city with affordable housing!”
She says, ‘Houstonians are staying in Houston. Some are moving closer to the inner city and many who lost their homes in Hurricane Harvey want to stay in their own areas.”
Property sales are up 8-1/2 percent from last year and prices are up over 11%. July was another great month for Houston home sales and is up almost 10% over last year. Evans buyers are still looking for a place near work that's great for their kids. “The number one attraction will always be schools and school districts.”
Although home sales are up, leasing of townhomes, condominiums and single family homes is down.
