Houston's Suspected Serial Killer Captured

A possible serial killer in the Houston area has been captured.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said Jose Rodriguez was found by deputies driving through Houston on Tuesday morning and subsequently arrested.

Rodriguez is a registered sex offender and a suspect in Saturday's murder of a 28-year-old employee of a Mattress Firm in northwest Houston as well as yesterday's killing of an employee at a Mattress One in north Houston.

Rodriguez is also the suspect in the murder of a 62-year-old woman on Friday at her home in Cypress.  Officers say Rodriguez also robbed and wounded a Metro bus driver Monday.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the community "can breath a sigh of relief this morning as a result of the dedication and excellence" of officers.

Gonzalez, in a tweet Tuesday asked the public to "continue to review your security cameras and come forward with any information on the suspect's activities."
