Houston Still a Sellers’ Market!

Real Estate Research company Trulia says that most large U.S. cities are experiencing a slowdown in housing sales - but Houston continues to sell lots of homes - especially to families wanting something under half a million. “If you look at houses in that range, we have less than a 4 month inventory of houses for sale. 6 months is considered ‘normal’ --- so we’re really in a Sellers’ Market!” says Dr. Ted Jones, Chief Economist for Stewart Title.  “Our housing sales this year are up 2.1%.”

Dr. Jones also says that in the first half of this year, realtors in Montgomery, Galveston, Ft. Bend and Harris Counties broke an all-time high for homes OVER a million dollars.  While other cities are growing inventory of houses for sale, Houston is growing neighborhoods.
