The internet the way we have come to know it and use it is not ‘sustainable’ if you believe some watchdog groups.
And that's because of a number of factors, but the main one according to the Electronic Privacy Information Center in a statement delivered to Congress is that Google and Facebook dominate the market. Internet attorney Travis Crabtree told KTRH this could force lawmakers to take action.
“Something needs to be done. We may not like the way it’s going. What we are concerned about is how far the pendulum swings to the other side,” Crabtree said.
You've heard a lot about regulation when it comes to the internet lately, and Crabtree doesn't think it's that bad of an idea.
“If it’s treated like a scalpel it would probably make things better. The problem occurs when it comes in like a sledgehammer,” Crabtree explained.
