The government is fixated on your face. No, this is not a good thing. And no, you should not be flattered.
The Department of Homeland Security is said to be developing a massive biometric and biographic database that includes face and voice data, tattoos, scars and other 'physical' descriptors Security expert Robert Siciliano told KTRH is not surprised and says the technology has been leading towards this for a while.
“Data such as this; biometrics, facial recognition software, has been recorded for well over a decade,” Siciliano said.
And there's something else going on that should bother you. Amazon announced it is selling facial recognition software to local police departments all over the country. Siciliano thinks that should be setting off alarm bells in your head in a big way.
“What is alarming about it is the fact that Amazon has so much access to us already, due to the fact that we spend a lot of time and money on their site,” Siciliano explained.
